Head of the Lake – Volunteers

LWRC Members: It’s time to sign up to volunteer for 2009 Head of the Lake Regatta

New this year. All volunteer sign ups will happen online.  It only takes a couple minutes.  Follow these three easy steps:

1       Determine what you want to do and when.

2       Click on the AREA you are interested in (example: Timing). You will be directed to the listing of:  WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW for each job.

3       Find the job you want, click “I’ll do it” and follow the fast and easy instructions.

General Listing of Volunteer Jobs:

Jobs in red are great for racers (don’t conflict with race day)

Buoy and race course:

Buoy prep:  Saturday morning

Buoy installation:  Sunday morning

Buoy clean up:  Sunday afternoon

Parking and boat storage:

Trailer parking and boat storage:  Saturday afternoon/evening

Trailer parking and boat storage:  Early Sunday morning

Race Packets:

Preparations:  1-4 weeks prior to race day

Packet assembly:  Saturday morning prior to race day

Packet distribution:  Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday morning

Timing:

All day jobs:  Sunday 6AM to end of race (all positions – very important jobs)

Examples include:  Computer operators, Timing assistant, Starter and Finisher Spotter, penalty coordinator.

Vendors and merchandise:

Preparations:  1-4 weeks prior to race day

Merchandise organization:  1 week prior to race day

Merchandise sales:  Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday morning

Vendor set up and tear down:  Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon

Boathouse cleanup: Sunday afternoon

Need Leader: (see Kari Page Kari.Page@verizon.net)

No online signups: The following jobs are being filled independently and will not have signups online.  If you are interested, contact these individuals directly.

Dock Masters:  BJ Connolly: bjconnolly@windermere.com

Launch drivers:  Dave Rutherford: rutherford@arcarchitects.com

If you are unable to connect to the online sign up at MySignUp.com, try going to “search for signup” and enter Kari.Page@verizon.net as the person who created the MySignUp.  You will then be given a choice of signups to link to.
