Mind Body Online Dues Payments… Still waiting for a coding error on the processors side to be fixed.  Once the fix is done your quick renewal will be appreciated.  Steps to renew will come when we’re ready to GO LIVE.  Thanks for your patience!

Keep the cards coming to Frank!  From Frank’s daughter, Ellyn:  Dad is home! We moved him back to my house yesterday afternoon. He was pretty happy! He is settling in and getting adjusted slowly. He is not ready for visitors quite yet. Maybe by the weekend, I will let you know. He is still clearing up a bit of pneumonia and he did picked up MRSA. Visitors should be warned and I have a few masks just in case. Keep the mail coming!!

SPRING GEAR ORDER  The Lake Washington  Spring 2013 team store is now open!!!   If you plan to race in the first half of this year, here is your opportunity to order a unisuit or unitank and trou.  Training gear is also available.  Orders will not be ready by Green Lake.  At the JL Team Store site, you can use your own credit card to order required team uniform items as well as training gear. Everyone MUST get their order in by midnight (PST) Monday, March 5th. If you miss the store closing date, you will need to order your uniform as an individual from your team contact. For individual orders pricing and shipping will be different than a team purchase.
There is information on the site to help you place your order. Click on this link, or copy and paste it into the address field of your browser.
If you have any questions please contact Jen.  Answers to common questions can be found on the Race in JL FAQ page. There’s also sizing tab within the store.

An Invitation from member Roberta Scholz  Some of you may already be familiar with Row to the Future and its outreach programs: Rainier Valley Rowing and Erg Ed, administered by the Pocock Foundation. RVR has supported over 40 students since its founding in 2008. Last year, 4,000 students in Seattle Middle Schools participated in Erg Ed. Recently, Row to the Future and Seattle Public Schools committed to extending Erg Ed for five more years. Obviously, something good is going on here!  I am pleased to support these programs because they are locally administered and because they bring the lessons of rowing (we all know what those are!) to teenagers at a critical time in their lives. Already there have been countless examples of the program’s profound effects on participants. This year, I’m co-hosting a table at the annual RTTF fund-raising breakfast on Friday, March 22, at the Bell Harbor Convention Center. If you believe in — and wish to support — youth rowing, please be our guest at this year’s breakfast. All we ask in return is that you come prepared to enjoy the company of fellow supporters of RTTF and that you contribute to the cause as generously as you wish and are able to. We also think you’ll be inspired and uplifted by learning more about how these programs have significantly changed the lives of their participants.  The breakfast begins at 7:30 and ends at 9, but the doors open at 7. We encourage you to arrive early and meet with fellow rowers to catch up on each other’s news. (We’re pleased that Bainbridge, Sammamish, and Everett rowers will be joining us this year — what a testament to the merits of these youth programs!)

We have a couple of places remaining at our table, and I would love to see them filled by LWRC members! Please let me know within the next few days whether you’d like to join us in supporting Row to the Future. Again, you would be our guest; all you need to do is enjoy yourself and donate to the cause.  More info on Row to the Future may be found on its website: Parking details will be forthcoming.
