We are up to $3750, now (11:23 AM, 3/18) plus $600 that Tyler has raised on a separate web page that he is trying to get linked to our site. (not sure how that happened) -- so that is $4350, all up -- and counting.

We have had wonderful support from the club. Thanks to everyone who has donated. If you haven't, yet, there is still time!

Great job, Jody!
Congratulations on making it to the top, and for finishing 6th in her age division.

The LWRC "Big Climb" team keeps growing, and we've already reached our fundraising goal of $2,000 (thanks to the efforts of KC Dietz and John Alberti). Let's keep the donations rolling in!

In 2006 at the HOC my teammates and I (Rachel, Ute and Katarina) had to start in the back of the pack starting at #14 (racing in our new category of Senior 4). Even having to stop twice and taking the turn at Elliot really wide, we managed second place.

So, for 2007 we were excited to race for the gold. I unfortunately had a very bad accident the first week of September which resulted in some surgery and no Fall racing. So....we needed to find a starboard really fast to take my place. Kari Page agreed to step in and handled the pressure and her nervousness with the skills of a pro. She raced with Rachel, Ute and Katarina (my usual teammates for this race for the last 10 years) along with our cox, Mark Mason from Long Beach and not only did they win the race, but also set a new course record. If you see Kari in the boat house, please tell her congratulations....she was fabulous!

I rowed in PRC Men's 8+ and won the Grand Masters gold medal.

This is the same situation as Dave R and Jim O, except 8+ instead of 2x. We entered the Senior Masters (50+) race. Within that division, they award a special "Grand Masters" medal (I love the name, even though it means "really old") for the fastest boat with average age over 60. We finished in 17:58, 6 seconds ahead of second place Occoquan.

John Robinson and I had submitted 2x entries in 2006 and 207, but were not drawn. Shortly after, I encountered the PRC 8+ in the Fremont cut. Al MacKenzie asked if I was going to HOC. I said, "No we were not drawn". He said "We have an opening". I said "Yes!" before he could actually extend an invitation, but there you have it.

This was a PRC entry, so you will have to decide if you think it appropriate to post, but I am pretty proud of it.
