Winter is an excellent time for Juniors to improve their fitness and rowing skills in a more controlled environment with our coaches. Each Junior will feel more prepared going into Spring season and ready for racing.

Junior Winter Program
Winter training is an important time for rowers to improve their strength and conditioning. We are excited to offer the same opportunity to our Juniors.
Practices will be limited to twice a week and consist of erging, weight lifting, calisthenics, running, yoga, etc. Given the lower temperatures and darkness, we will not be going out on the water during this period. There will be indoor and outdoor training so it is important for the athletes to wear layers.
Our tentative practice dates are as follows (Tuesdays and Thursdays):
January – 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30
February – 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27
Actual practice dates are subject to adjust due to level of athlete enrollment.

LWRC Junior coaches are available for private coaching sessions. Hire one of our expert coaches for a solo lesson. Private lessons are available for beginners, as well as experienced rowers looking to improve their skills. Once you purchase a private lesson, you will be contacted by an LWRC coach to arrange a time for your session. If you have a coach preference, please contact the LWRC Office . You do not need to be a member of LWRC to take a private lesson. However, you do need to complete a float test and sign the LWRC and USRowing waivers before your first lesson.
